An Alabama Blizzard

Okay, so it wasn't really a blizzard, but anytime you have snow falling in L.A. (lower Alabama), it can seem like a blizzard to the locals.

We woke up at 6:15 to snow falling, and it was just beginning to stick. It stopped falling, and the snow started to melt, and then a really heavy snowfall came and stayed heavy for several hours, resulting in a beautiful white blanket of snow all around. This is a picture of our house.
This is the magnolia tree in our front yard.
This is the tree line across the front of our yard. Isn't it beautiful?
This is looking across our back yard to our neighbor's.
I took this picture through our back door. The wind was fierce, and I didn't want to let snow inside, but I wanted to take a picture of the gourd birdfeeder swinging in the wind. The snow was falling so hard you couldn't see the barn in the pasture behind our house.
This is the normal view from our back door.
This tree is in our neighbor's front yard. The snow was falling pretty hard.
Blue stayed inside last night, and after we fed him this morning we let him back in his kennel. There was a second, harder snowfall after 8:00 a.m., and when we let Blue out the second time, he was jumping and running through the snow. I think he liked it!
Leyden and I went outside and made a snowman, Frosty. I took pictures when we made him, but my camera batteries died and didn't save the pictures. It wasn't until I was trying to load the pictures on the internet 2 hours later than I realized we didn't have any of Frosty, so Leyden and I went back outside to take more pictures. Frosty's M&M eyes and nose had melted, so he looked a little rough!
Now, most of the snow has melted, except for Frosty, and things are back to normal, except for the frigid temperature outside!

We sure had fun today, playing board games and staying warm by the fire. It isn't often that we get snow in Alabama, so we enjoyed it!
