This is a picture of dad's cousin, Skipper Leyden (a/k/a Don Leyden), teaching Leyden how to steer the boat. (We were sailing on the Piankatank River on Don & Alice's beautiful sailboat, the Santorini.) Leyden thought this was fantastic and really enjoyed it. After a while, the Skipper let Leyden steer all by herself, which was WAY cool!

This is a picture of Leyden and me aboard the Santorini. We really enjoyed this part of our trip, and even Mom enjoyed sailing:

Okay, get your glasses, because without them you can't see what I'm talking about in this next picture... Don & Alice took us to see the New Point Comfort Light, which is waaaaaaaaay out in the water. Leyden took a picture of me "holding" the lighthouse, and I think you may need a magnifying glass to see the tiny lighthouse. (It seemed a lot bigger in person.) It could've been an inch tall and I'd have still been thrilled to see it!
Don & Alice also took us to Stingray Point Marina, where they have a full-scale replica of the Stingray Point Lighthouse. Leyden and I were able to walk around the outside of it and peer into the windows. Awesome!

And last, but not least, is a picture from our tour of The Tides Inn in Irvinton, Virginia. It reminded me of Dirty Dancing, and had gorgeous grounds and a beautiful view. Below is a picture of Leyden and me outside Lancaster House.
I'll post more about our trip later, including some pictures from D.C.
