Ridin' the Waves...

My life is like the sea lately... there are times when the waters are calm, but mostly it's been hurricane season and some category 4s have been rolling through.
I'm not "all better" from the accident yet, but I'm sleeping a little better at night. (I still get mad about the whole situation when I think about it... foot on the brake, sitting at a red light, and BAM! BAM! my life has changed and I have to get over it. So, I try not to think about it.)
Monday I ran into a new problem - my rosacea has decided to "act up" and make my entire face burn like liquid fire has been poured over me. (Like how I'm using quotes a lot today?) My rosacea was only on small parts of my face before Monday. Now it is EVERYWHERE. I went to my dermatologist Tuesday, and she prescribed me some new oral medication for rosacea to use in addition to my usual topical stuff. She says my face is irritated by the sudden onset of cold weather. So my face burns when anything touches it, sometimes even air. FUN!
But, I refuse to be the "glass-is-half-empty" girl (there go those quotes again) and I am determined to be optimistic about this situation. One good thing is that I got to go ahead and have my annual screening with the dermatologist on Tuesdsay so I don't have to come back in a month, wait for an hour to see the doctor and pay another co-pay. (Thanks, Doc!) Um, another good thing... I got to enjoy the sunroof on the way to the doctor's office and on the way back to work!
We're trying to get ready for the holidays. I must admit, I'm dreading them all this year. It won't be the same without Gran and Grandaddy. I am going to try to make it different and fun this year so we won't be so mindful of our loss. Mom and I went to Gran and Grandaddy's last weekend to go through some stuff, and we listened to Christmas music in the car. Mom's Christmas music habit is year-round, but I haven't heard it in a while, so it was cheerful and happy and helped get me in the holiday spirit.
Well, gotta go for now. I'll try to update again soon. And maybe fill you in on Halloween and the camping trip.
