Okay, I'm lazy. I admit it. Anyone who knows me has probably figured it out. No surprise, right?
Well, I like to think that I've gotten better lately. My house has been clean for over a month - consistently clean. I don't think that has ever happened before in my life. Ever. I'm not kidding. There isn't clutter everywhere - everything is in its place. Granted, some things still call moving boxes home, but the moving boxes are in their place. Every room in my house besides the bedrooms is neat and clean. (I realize that some of you are falling over with disbelief or simply must see this phenomenon to believe it and I don't blame you.)
So, the laundry stays pretty much caught up now (because I can't stand the sight of clothes spilling out of the hampers all over the laundry room floor) and most things are put back in their place before I go to bed at night. I never thought I would say this, but sometimes I get sort of Type A about things being put away. But I'm sure all of you ladies will understand that once a room is almost clean, you must make it completely clean or the almost doesn't count. Am I right?
Anyway, back to my story... last night as we were driving home, we were joking around and I told Brad I was going to live in my new pop-up camper (if I get one). Brad said that was fine, and Leyden began screaming, "NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT, MOM!" I said, "Don't worry Leyden, I could never move away from your Daddy. If I did that, who would do his laundry?"
And that one statement brought on a whole new episode of laughing and joking about my housekeeping, cooking and laundry abilities. At one point Brad said, "I thought there was a button on the couch that keeps the washer and dryer running."
WHAT?! Where did he get that? You know I had to ask him why on earth he thought that was true. And you want to know his answer? I should've known...
"Well, every time you put clothes in the wash, you get on the couch. I figure there must be a button in the seat that keeps the washer and dryer going and that's why you sit there when you do laundry."
